Gales Ferry - Karen Anderson-Kemp, beloved wife and mother, of Gales Ferry, passed away April 29, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of John and Irene Anderson of Armonk, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband Lowell C. Kemp of Gales Ferry; son-in-law Ben; and daughter Lisa-Anne Williams of Rock Hill, S.C.; daughter Heidi-Jane Kemp of Moosup; and grandchildren: Tyler, Benjamin, Grant, Landon and Charlotte.

Karen attended Pleasantville High School in Pleasantville, N.Y., and graduated in 1965. She received her BS degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., in 1982, and her master's degree from University of Hawaii, Honolulu in 1985. Karen was employed as a clinical social worker for the U.S .Navy until 2012. She started her own private practice at that time and continued until her passing.

A graveside service will be held May 15, for family and close friends at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery, Bedford, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 17, at the United Methodist Church in Gales Ferry. Please visit www.byles.com to share a memory or condolence with the family.
